Getting There
The Ancient Ruins are the deepest biome of the mines and the source of Mistril Ore, so the Coelacanth is a mid-to-late-game catch. If you're not that deep yet, the mines guide walks through every biome and the fastest way to descend. Once you're on a ruins fishing floor, cast with Rare Fish Bait and be patient — it's a rare spawn even with the right setup.
What It's Used For
- Museum: Fish Wing, Ruins set — one of the entries you'll need for completion.
- Quests: Terithia's Request asks for a Coelacanth, and it counts for the Crown Request "Fish".
- Gifting: careful — it is Disliked by Hayden and Vera. Sell or donate instead.
For every other fish's price, location and season, the full fish list has the complete table — and if you're optimizing Tesserae per cast, the top of that list is where to look.
