Spring Festival — Spring 17

Celine kicks it off on Spring 14: for three days, Breath of Spring flowers drop from anything that normally gives Essence — farming, fishing, mining, your usual routine. On the morning of the 17th she collects them automatically, even out of chests, and the town square's decorations scale with the haul.

Three stalls open on the day, and their stock unlocks by your placement: Nora and Holt's souvenirs (the 800t Lovable Scent of Spring is a loved-by-everyone gift), Adeline and Elsie's clothing stall (Spring Festival Dress and Suit need 1st place), and Maple's drinks stand — her 100t Speedy Coffee is the sleeper buy.

Shooting Star Festival — Summer 28

The date-night festival. Elsie greets you in the morning with a Shooting Star Brooch; gift it to a romanceable character with 4+ hearts and they'll accept — then meet them at 8 PM to watch the stars from the Summit together. Under 4 hearts they politely decline, and best friends redirect you to invite a romantic interest instead. Going solo works fine too, and Caldarus fans can talk to his statue at 8 PM for exclusive dialogue. Fair warning: the day ends when the cutscene does, and the whole town gossips about your choice of company on Fall 1.

Harvest Festival — Fall 10

Yes, the Harvest Festival is in the game — it arrived with v0.14.0, well before 1.0. Reina announces it on Fall 7, and the format mirrors spring: Queen Berries drop from Essence-giving activities for three days, Reina collects them on the morning of the 10th, and your total decides your placement.

Fall short and the podium goes to Eiland, Maple and Juniper — no hard feelings, the feast happens either way.

The dance: after the judging you can ask someone for the traditional Harvest Festival dance. It takes 4+ hearts with a romanceable character (best friends decline and point you toward a romantic interest). Every candidate has their own acceptance line, and both hidden candidates join in — Caldarus dances within the Deep Woods' bounds before his story resolves, and Seridia will ask whether she should lead. It counts as a festival date in the romance system.

Shopping list: Nora's Souvenir Stall sells the Queen Berry Pie (800t) — a gift loved by everyone — plus Candied Queen Berries (400t, liked by everyone), three recipe scrolls (Pumpkin Pie 600t, Apple Honey Curry 800t, Harvest Plate 800t — see why Harvest Plate earns its price) and berry-themed outfits. Hayden's Pumpkin Patch sells random decorative pumpkins at 200t a roll.

Animal Festival — Winter 10

Adeline announces it on Winter 7. On the day, register one small animal (chicken, duck, rabbit or capybara — Terithia's stall) and/or one large animal (cow, horse, sheep or alpaca — Landen's stall), then talk to Josephine to start the judging. Scoring is transparent: hearts + coat-color tier.

Hearts pay +0 to +45 (10 hearts) and color tiers +20 to +45 (tier 6), so a tier-6 seasonal animal at just 5 hearts (45+20 = 65) already takes first — the breeding ladder is the real preparation. Winners also get species-specific ribbons and trophies pinned to their Journal page.

Nora's stall here is a must-visit for economists: the Golden Cookies and Golden Cheesecake recipes (800t each) unlock the two best-selling dishes in the game, and 500t animal cosmetics (per species you own) plus the loved-by-everyone Cow-Shaped Donut (600t) round it out.

Festival Strategy Notes

• Both gathering contests reward playing normally — Breath of Spring and Queen Berries drop while you farm, fish and mine. Start the moment the intro cutscene plays and 50+ comes naturally.
• First place in any ranked festival (Spring, Harvest or Animal) pops the First Place achievement.
• Buy the loved-by-everyone gifts in bulk: Scent of Spring, Queen Berry Pie and Cow-Shaped Donut are rare universal Loved gifts — stock up once a year and birthday planning gets much easier (birthday calendar).
• Festival recipe scrolls don't return until next year — grab Golden Cookies/Cheesecake and the Harvest trio the first Winter/Fall you can afford them.

Is there a Harvest Festival in Fields of Mistria?

Yes — every Fall 10, since update v0.14.0. Reina announces it on Fall 7, you gather Queen Berries for three days (50+ takes first place), and the day itself has a community feast, a souvenir stall and a dance. The datamined festivals that aren't in yet are Halloween and the Gift Festival.

How does the Harvest Festival dance work?

After the judging, ask any romanceable character with 4+ hearts to dance — each has a unique acceptance line. Best friends turn you down and suggest a romantic interest. Both hidden candidates can dance too; Caldarus does it within the Deep Woods before his story concludes.

What festivals are in the game right now?

Four: Spring Festival (Spring 17), Shooting Star Festival (Summer 28), Harvest Festival (Fall 10) and Animal Festival (Winter 10). Weekly events run alongside: the Saturday Market, Friday nights at the Inn, and weekend dates.

Is there a Halloween festival?

Not yet. A Halloween Festival (Fall 28) exists in the game's calendar data and the wiki lists it as not yet implemented, alongside the Cooking Contest, Beach Day, Crop Festival, Gift Festival and New Year's Eve. No official release date has been announced for any of them.

Can you bring a date to festivals?

Two festivals have explicit date mechanics: gift the Shooting Star Brooch to someone with 4+ hearts on Summer 28, and ask for a dance at the Harvest Festival. Both count toward the romance system's festival dates, and attending the star festival with a date unlocks the Love Is In The Air achievement.
