The Four Wings: 82 Sets, 409 Donations

The collection splits into four wings. Each set needs 5 specific items — with one exception, the Legendary Fish Set, which needs 4. Since 1.0 the museum is fully completable, and you can walk into each wing's room to look at everything you've donated.

That's 82 sets and 409 items in total. Donating everything unlocks the Celebrated Curator achievement — one of 4 museum achievements on the full achievements list.

How Rewards Work

Rewards depend on how many sets you've completed in that wing, not on which specific set you finish. Each wing runs its own ladder: a Wooden Treasure Box for your first set, Copper boxes next, then Silver, then Golden — bundled with outfit pieces first (Explorer's, Fishing, Farmer's and Beekeeper's gear respectively), then furniture recipes, and finally showpieces like the Tesserae Tree (Flora 18) or wearable Butterfly, Dragonfly and Beetle wings (Insects 17-19).

Three cooking recipes are also museum-exclusive — they unlock the moment you donate one specific item:

Archaeology Wing: 22 Sets

Dig Site Material, Prehistoric, Ancient, Alda, Caldosian, Aldarian, Oopart, Aquatic, Sunken, Deep Woods, Fish Trap, Buried, Upper Mines, Tide Cavern, Deep Earth, Lava Caves, Dragon, Ritual, Mist, Vintage Farm Tools, Metals of Mistria, and Gems of Mistria. Location-named sets drop from dig spots in that area (Prehistoric = The Beach, Alda = Sweetwater Farm, Caldosian = The Eastern Road, Aldarian = The Narrows, and so on).

Six of these sets never appear until you buy the right perk — this is the wall most completionists hit:

The Metals and Gems sets want Perfect ore and gem drops, one per mine biome (Perfect Ruby in the Upper Mines through Perfect Pink Diamond in the Ancient Ruins) — the Archaeology perk Museum Quality III makes legendary artifact drops more likely while you grind them. Fish Wing: 22 Sets

One Multi-Season set, nine seasonal sets (River, Pond and Ocean for spring, summer, fall and winter — spring ocean through winter ocean), five mines-biome sets, a Deep Woods set, and three specials:

• Fish Bait Set — Massive Minnow, Copper Rockfish, Iron Fish, Silver Squid and Golden Eel only bite after you throw Fish Bait (a Terrarium product) into the water.
• Fish Trap Set — Blue Crab, Sea Urchin, Bait Thief, Hake and Amberjack come from the baited Fish Trap on The Beach.
• Legendary Fish Set — the only 4-item set: Cherry Fish, Leaf Fish, Lightning Fish, Snow Fish. Each needs the Legendary perk (Fishing Lv 30) plus the right season and weather — full conditions in the fishing guide. Donating all four unlocks the Fish Fanatic achievement.

Flora Wing: 19 Sets

Twelve seasonal sets (Crop, Flower and Forage per season), five mines-biome sets, Deep Woods — and Void Forage, the late bloomer: Void Herb, Void Pearl, Void Powder, Void Stone and Voidite all require Void Sight, which you earn from the Ruins Seal story quest at mine floor 80 (quest chain here). If you're saving Void items for "Creating the Void Mass", collect spares — that quest consumes 5 of each.

Insects Wing: 19 Sets

Five seasonal/multi-season sets, five mines-biome sets, Deep Woods, Beach, Grass, Bee, Rare, Bug Pheromone — plus the two sets added in 1.0: Honey (all four honey tiers + Honeycomb, produced by Apiaries) and Terrarium (Uncommon/Rare/Legendary Bug Pheromones + Uncommon/Rare Fish Bait). Apiaries and Terrariums unlock through the Town Rank 30 story quest "Apiaries and Terrariums".

The Legendary set needs all five legendary bugs: Fairy Bee, Flower Crown Beetle, Snowball Beetle, Speedy Snail and Strobe Firefly. Donating them earns the Entomologist achievement — seasons, weather and a reliable Summit farming trick are in the insect guide.

Stone Loach: Why You Need Two

The Stone Loach is a common, medium-sized fish in the Upper Mines (floors 1-19) — cast into any water pocket down there. It blends into the rocks, which is fitting, because two different collectors want one:

• The museum's Upper Mines Fish Set takes one, and
• the story quest "The Water Tablet" (the floor-20 water seal) consumes one, alongside an Upper Mines Mushroom and a Ruby Lantern Moth.

Donate your first catch and the seal still needs its own — that's the "where's my second Stone Loach" wall many players hit. The fix, straight from the wiki: Common Fish Bait makes common fish like the Stone Loach more likely to spawn. Toss bait into Upper Mines water and the odds tilt your way. Medium shadow, by the way — skip the small ones.

Written Root: Late-Game Forage

The Written Root belongs to the Flora Wing's Ruins set — it's a forageable that only spawns in The Ancient Ruins (floors 81-99), so there's no way to donate it before breaking the Ruins Seal. Grab more than one if you can: after "Upgrade the Saturday Market", Wheedle posts a request paying 800t for a spare. One for Errol, one for the fortune business.

Fast Completion Tips

• Donate as you go. Every item pays Renown, and Renown gates the town-repair quests (thresholds here) — hoarding duplicates in chests helps nobody.
• Check quest lists before donating rare mine items. Seal quests consume Stone Loach, Jade Dulse, Coral Mantis, Smoke Moth, Obsidian and more — keep one spare of anything a tablet asks for.
• Buy the cheap unlock perks early. Aquatic Antiquities (20 Essence) and Sunken Secrets (15) start trickling in two whole artifact sets from Lv 1 skills.
• 1.0 tidied the popups — Set Complete notifications now appear right after the donation popup, so you'll know the moment a set closes.

Where do you find the Stone Loach?

It's a common, medium-sized fish in the Upper Mines (floors 1-19). You need two in total — one for the museum's Upper Mines Fish Set and one for the floor-20 Water Tablet quest. Using Common Fish Bait in mine water makes it spawn more often.

How many items does the museum need in total?

409 donations across 82 sets: 22 Archaeology sets, 22 Fish, 19 Flora and 19 Insects. Every set takes 5 items except the Legendary Fish Set, which takes 4. Completing everything unlocks the Celebrated Curator achievement.

Can you complete the museum now?

Yes — since the 1.0 update the museum is fully completable, and the Insects Wing gained its final two sets (Honey and Terrarium). Before 1.0, some sets simply didn't exist yet.

Can you visit your donated collection?

Yes. Since 1.0 each wing's room can be entered, so donated fish, insects, flora and artifacts are on display rather than living in a menu. Walk in through the museum's wing doors.

What do museum donations give you?

Tesserae and Renown per item, plus a reward ladder per wing: treasure boxes (Wooden through Golden), themed outfits, furniture recipes and showpieces like the Tesserae Tree. Donating a Sweetroot, Jade Dulse or Upper Mines Mushroom also unlocks a museum-exclusive recipe each.
