Fishing Basics

You'll receive a fishing rod early in the story. Cast into any body of water — rivers, lakes, the ocean, and even the mines — and time your clicks to keep the fish on the line.

Location matters: different water types hold different fish.
Time & season matter: some fish only appear at night, or only in certain seasons.
Weather can matter: rain sometimes brings rare fish out.

Upgrade your fishing rod to catch tougher fish and cut the mini-game difficulty. Every upgrade is worth it if you fish regularly.

Legendary Fish

Legendary fish are the trophies of Mistria. They're rare, seasonal, and often weather-dependent. Expect to spend several in-game days at the right spot, at the right hour, in the right season.

Check the in-game journal for hints about each legendary fish.
Bring your best rod and bait — they're hard to reel in.
Selling one is tempting, but consider donating it to the museum first (if the town has one).

Best Fish to Sell

Ocean and cave fish generally sell for more than river fish. Cooked fish dishes sell for even more — check recipes at the inn and turn your catch into profitable meals.

Quick Income Tip

Fish at night before bed — it uses energy that would otherwise be wasted, and night-time species tend to fetch better prices.
